In 2021, economies around the world witnessed remarkable growth in international expansion and acquisition. In the third quarter of 2021, for example, M&A activity continued its unprecedented run with total global announced transaction value increasing 13.7% sequentially and 32% year-on-year to US$1.17 trillion. Commentators are bullish about further growth in 2022.

As cross-border operations increase, a big concern is on tax compliance. What should businesses be expecting in 2022 tax compliance trends, specifically in Europe?

One of the trends in tax compliance is digitalization. Tax authorities are focusing on digitizing their interactions with taxpayers. Countries like Poland, Bulgaria, and Greece have announced their intention to introduce in 2022–2023 e-invoicing.

Italy, however, has implemented their e-invoicing system- SDI for public administrations since 2014 and since 2019, it has become mandatory for B2B transactions. Starting in July 2022, all transactions – including those with foreign partners, must be submitted to SDI. How will this affect taxpayers?

In this webinar, we will discuss the movements in tax compliance and reporting, as well as their potential effects on European taxation. Especially, our local expert in Italy and Poland will give you insights regarding new e-invoicing rules in 2022 and 2023.

Join our webinar in association with the ACCA to get the latest updates on the global taxation scene and stay ahead of the compliance trends in Europe.
