Eric Roose, Managing Partner, Withers Worldwide – Tokyo
Eric is a managing partner in the private client and tax team and focuses on international corporate and individual tax. He leads our Tokyo office and focuses on international corporate and individual taxation. He also leads the international corporate tax practice in the Asia-Pacific region and serves as the Japan tax practice leader.
His practice involves advising clients on a broad range of international tax planning and corporate tax advisory matters including investment funds, M&A, cross-border transactions, real estate investments and technology matters. He specializes in structuring investment funds focusing on the Asia-Pacific region and has significant experience in structuring funds using a Singapore treaty platform to invest into the Asia Pacific region. Eric has advised clients in over $50 billion of international corporate, real estate and private equity transactions.
In addition, he regularly advises ultra-high-net-worth individuals on Japan income and inheritance tax planning and is particularly knowledgeable in the taxation of and use of foreign trusts in regards to Japan.
His clients include leading investment funds in the Asia region, MNCs, technology companies, and ultrahigh-net-worth Japanese and foreign individuals.

Ivy Choa - Head of Trust Services, TMF Hong Kong
Ivy joined the Private Wealth & Family Office department of TMF Group in 2015. She has more than 20 years of experience in trust and private banking and is an expert in wealth planning, administration of complex trusts and corporate structures and litigation cases. Prior to joining TMF Group, Ivy was Vice President of Wealth Management Services of HSBC Trustee (Hong Kong) Limited that focuses specially on understanding clients’ need and devising the most appropriate tailor-made solution for high net worth clients.

Kosaku Yoshioka - Market Head of Business Development, Japan & Korea
Kosaku is the Market Head of Business Development, Japan & Korea and is based in TMF Japan.
Since joining TMF Group in July 2021, he has become the first point of contact in Japan supporting clients’ cross-border investments and structuring for Funds, Corporate, Capital Markets and Private Wealth.
He has more than 20 years experience of working in international business development at Corporate and Funds Service providers, BPO organisations and Corporate Banking both in Japan and Europe. Kosaku has gained extensive experience of supporting and coordinating international expansions and investment structures for multi national corporates and investors.
Kosaku obtained MBA degree from HEC School of Management, Paris.
