Poland to amend VAT regulation in July

08 April 2015

Work on the amendment to the VAT Act in Poland are almost finished.

The majority of the new regulations will enter into force from 1 July 2015, with changes referring mainly to the rules relating to delivery calculation in cases where the buyer is the taxpayer.

The changes in the Act aim to ensure effectiveness and seal up the reverse charge mechanism through covering within scope some forms of gold, other products made of steel, mobile phones, smart phones, mobile computers (such as tablets, notebooks, laptops) and game consoles. The introduction of a price limit had been proposed; exceeding this limit will be covered by the reverse charge mechanism (exceeding of PLN 20,000 net within uniform economic transaction).

The project of the Act stipulates to limit the application of the reverse charge mechanism to transactions for the benefit of the taxpayers registered as active VAT payers.
