TMF Group has collaborated with Centre For Seniors (CFS), a non-profit social service agency in Singapore to encourage mature employees to be gainfully and meaningfully employed in the community.
As one of the pioneer organisations in Singapore working together with CFS, TMF Singapore has opened up its recruitment positions for mature employees and successfully placed mature employees in professional services roles.
Kim Leng Siaw, TMF Group’s Managing Director for Singapore, said, “In the recent National Day Rally, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that the retirement and re-employment ages will be raised. TMF Group always embraces diversity and honours inclusion. This includes a balance of youth and experience, creativity and perspective. In TMF Singapore, about 15% of employees are aged 50 or above. Mature employees have much to teach the young. The young can inspire new ways of thinking in senior workers.”
Rosalind Tay, 62, who retired earlier this year and is now an assistant compliance officer at professional services firm TMF Singapore, said, “I’m very glad to join the family at TMF Group, and also grateful to CFS for matching me to this opportunity. Professional business service firms are always looking for highly skilled people, so this was truly a golden opportunity. The management and HR team at TMF Group have implemented various age friendly measures at the workplace, including flexi-work arrangements to suit different lifestyle needs and re-designed jobs to better suit senior talent.”
TMF Singapore has adopted a multi-pronged strategy to provide appropriate employment offers and on-the-job training for senior workers, as well as encouraged employees to build a friendly working environment for senior talent. Workshops are conducted with CFS for existing younger employees to educate them on how to work well and leverage the experience of mature employees.
“The Centre For Seniors has enabled us to employ mature employees in Singapore who can fulfil roles in which patience and attention to detail is needed for the sensitive and complex area of our work. As a global provider of essential administration services for international businesses expanding and operating abroad, we are successful because of teamwork from diverse talent in offices in over 80 jurisdictions,” Kim Leng Siaw added.
