Why you should consider joining TMF Group in the UK’s Channel Islands

14 April 2022

Our funds team in the Channel Islands is growing. With exciting and diverse client portfolios and solid business performance, there is no better time to join the team. Pauline Power from Talent Acquisition spoke to James Coughlan, Head of Funds Services, Channel Islands, to find out what sets the career experience at TMF Group apart and why candidates should join us.

Why is TMF Group a great company to work for?

TMF Group is a leading global provider of critical administrative service with 9,000-plus employees and a presence in 85 jurisdictions worldwide. We do a fantastic job of leveraging our scale, service scope and geographical reach to ensure our client requirements and expectations are consistently met and exceeded.

From our CEO Mark Weil down, there is a significant focus on our people and ensuring that TMF Group works well for them – Mark regularly reiterates that if TMF Group fails to work for our staff then it won’t work for our clients. We place a significant focus on employee flexibility, development and global mobility, evidenced by significant flexibility around work from home, working hours and where we work from. Despite its scale, TMF Group has remained nimble in its decision-making processes, ensuring that we can be flexible and fluid to respond to day to day developments and challenges – something which is vitally important within our industry.

Tell us what’s exciting about the funds team in the Channel Islands?

TMF Group’s unique geographical scale and breadth of service offerings makes us a bonafide one stop shop for our clients, who include some of the largest investment managers in the world. We are a true partner for our clients and can provide a broad variety of services in almost all of the locations that they may be working in. It is very energising when discussing new business opportunities with potential clients to witness their reaction when I highlight that, in addition to providing all of the services that they require for their Channel Island fund, we can help them administer their structures in many other ways, such as by offering SPV, EBT, HR and payroll services. We truly do make a complex world simple for our clients.

TMF Group fully recognises that people are at the core of everything we do while also appreciating that smart technology is fundamental to support our people with delivery of first class service delivery. We are very excited to have recently been announced as ‘Best Fund Administrator – Technology’, at the Private Equity Wire European Awards 2022, evidence of TMF Group’s commitment to be a leader within our industry on technological developments to support and assist our people.

What are the career pathways for employees who join us?

My message to any new joiner - regardless of the level which they join us at - is that the opportunities within TMF Group are honestly limitless. We are a truly global and fast growing business with a very broad service range, therefore there are always new opportunities for ambitious staff both locally within our growing Channel Islands business and globally within the majority of our 85 jurisdictions.

We have a very engaged and accessible executive committee who regularly visit the Channel Islands business, providing plenty of opportunities to meet and speak directly with the TMF Group leadership team. The opportunity to build amazing careers within a global service provider are second to none.
